Overview of Solari Circles

A Solari Circle is a club of trusted friends with a particular focus on investing their time and money in building wealth in transformative ways. Wealth is viewed as a blend of financial and living equity, including the health and well being of our families, our communities and our planet. Financial investment emphasizes financial intimacy and "back to basics" investments -- green, self-sufficiency, venture, precious metals, offshore and local investment -- rather than promoting traditional corporate investment.

By collectively shifting our focus of spending, banking and investing toward sustainable, decentralized businesses and farming, we can transform our finances and the world. Our immediate goal is to create living and equity wealth that is sustainable for our families and fellow members in a way that contributes to healthy, sustainable communities worldwide.

For example, why let credit card companies finance our neighbors' debt at 18% when we are only earning 2% on our bank CDs? Why not get together and pool our capital and keep those interest profits in our community, while helping our neighbors work down their debt?

Other local investment opportunities include neighborhood business and venture investments, consumer and business aggregation, government resource reengineering and other similar activities. Network opportunities include what people we know and trust are doing or are investing in, including within their communities.

Solari Circles are self-organizing. They can be local or work by phone and the internet in multiple places. Clubs can organize informally to begin "Coming Clean" together, and gaining mastery of how the money works around us. Investment pools started by a Solari Investor Circle are organized as legal entities, probably a general partnership, with a bank account, tax ID number, books of account, articles of incorporation, and certain legal reporting requirements.

Catherine often says "Don't ask if there is a conspiracy. If you are not in one, you need to start one." Solari Circles are an important step to creating the conspiracies we need to build the world we would leave to our children.

Michael, I'm the last person who should be making a comment here, for like you, I'm still trying to learn everything about the Solari concept. Like you, I've pulled anything I had in FDIC-related banks out. I also have gotten myself out of debt, happily cut up the credit cards a few years ago, got the TV out of my home many years ago, and have developed a taste for gold and silver bullion coins to be held in hand. But I am now an ex-businessman, a sort of anomaly who, if not "middle-age crazy", at least has deliberately chosen a more spiritual approach to life than a material approach, and my financial circumstance is now acutely humble and modest. (Another reason I am not the proper one to address your questions, lol.) However, in reading this thread and finding your post of a few days ago, I thought perhaps I'd re-state a link from the thread-title post above. There are at the moment three excellent posts there which have just helped me get a better grasp on my own questions about what a Solari is and how one might begin a Solari in one's community. Perhaps those three posts will help you as well. I'll trust this board's software to activate the link. If not, the same link is above in the top post here.

Good luck and Bests,
Elias

Is the outline that is linked to reflective of the complete development of the "Starter Kit?"

Is help needed to further this project?

We are now out of debt (except for a student loan). We just sold our house in Portland (We now live in Eugene, Oregon), and we are ready to take some of the equity and invest. I am fairly new to the Solari Network, and I've been enjoying the posts and the information.

We are part of a new group that is forming called "Permatopia" that is planning for the impending energy, financial and resource collapse. One important piece to this is a Solari Investment Circle. I would very much like to start an SIC and we already have a few people in our group that are near-ready to go. We would very much like to attract more people who are interested to the following:

Creating alternatives to the corporate economy
Creating community-based sources of energy
Creating community-based urban food production

Current discussions in our group center around Peak Oil and the impending collapse.

Please e-mail me at daniel@planetsong.net for more information and for your interest.

Thanks,
Daniel SB
